The Dutch writer and art collector Han Nefkens founded the ART AIDS foundation with the aim to increase the public awareness of the HIV/AIDS problem by using art as a mediator. ART AIDS has organized and coordinated many themed exhibitions worldwide and continues to pursue its mission. In Thailand, ART AIDS has set up a program together with HIVNAT and the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre with a special focus on HIV-infected children and their families. Regular Art Camps are organized, offering activities focused on art for the children and educational activities for their caregivers. By creating a safe environment for the families, they can share their experiences and find mutual support.
