An overall picture of the current situation of HIV/AIDS in Asia

Dr. Kiat Ruxungtham, our deputy director, has well provided all of the information in an easy nutshell of how to take information from research to implementing policies to achieve the UNAIDS’ vision of 90-90-90 by 2030. He started with the general background of HIV in Asia to current knowledge of the benefits of starting HIV treatment early. He also briefly touched on some of the advances made in developing cheaper HIV diagnostic and treatment tests as well as the status of the HIV vaccine and what we can expect from the field of HIV cure. This summary will be presented at the Science and Technology in Society Forum on Oct 5-7, 2015 held in Kyoto, Japan.
