At the 15th Bangkok International Symposium on HIV Medicine on the 18th January 2012, HIV-NAT was delighted to honor the generous individuals who have contributed their time, money and heart in helping children infected with HIV in Thailand.
Over the last 5 years, the Children and Youth Program at HIV-NAT and SEARCH, under the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre, has been fortunate to have three charity organizations providing funds to help children living with HIV. These are: the Art AIDS Fund founded by Mr. Han Nefkens from the Netherlands, the Born to Live charity founded by Father Sean Smith from Australia and the Living and Loving charity founded by Dr. Sabine Kinloch and Dr. Andrew Hill from the United Kingdom.
The organizations: Art AIDS Fund, Born to Live and Living and Loving helped provide scholarships, emergency medical funds, living supplements, peer support groups, youth camps and other forms of support to more than 500 children and their families all over Thailand.
Mr. Phan Wannamethee, the Secretary General of the Thai Red Cross Society, presented a token of appreciation for their dedication to improving the lives of Thai children living with HIV.
