Under the leadership of co-PI Professor Matthew Law, their team has been awarded two of the 9, university-wide 2019 Scientia PhD positions for early-stage investigators (below), who were selected on the basis of applications nested within IeDEA Asia-Pacific. The purpose of the scholarship program is to train researchers whose work will \u201cimprove the lives of people in local and global communities.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Dr. Win Min Han is a Burmese clinical trials physician at HIV-NAT, Thailand, one of IeDEA Asia-Pacific\u2019s adult HIV cohort sites. <\/li><li>Mr. Malede Mequanent Sisay is a lecturer in Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the University of Gondar in Ethiopia. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\n\nBoth will contribute to IeDEA Asia-Pacific\u2019s regional research activities, studying HIV treatment outcomes in children and adults.\n\n<\/p>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\tThe regional data center of IeDEA Asia-Pacific is at the Kirby Institute, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia.
