Jakkrapatara Boonruang, MD
Biography
Dr. Jakkrapatara Boonruang is a research physician affiliated with the Institute of HIV Research and Innovation and a recipient of the Mark Wainberg Fellowship Program from the International AIDS Society. His field of study includes HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) screening, prevention, and treatment, as well as sexual health and gender-affirming hormone therapy for transgender and gender-diverse populations. He participates in various clinical trials, including the HPTN083 and PURPOSE-2 studies, which focus on long-acting injectable pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), as well as implementation research such as Community-Based Same Day Antiretroviral Treatment (CB-SDART) and Key Population-led HCV Test and Treat. Currently, he works as a clinician at Pribta-Tangerine Polyclinic, providing HIV/STI-related services and sexual health consultations.
