Biography

Dr. Sasisopin Kiertiburanakul is professor of medicine at faculty of medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. She has served as the chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases since 2015. She also is the assistant to the Dean for Corporate Communication, the committee of the Royal College of Physicians of Thailand, and the secretary of the Infectious Disease Association of Thailand and the Thai AIDS Society.

Dr. Kiertiburanakul graduated from Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. She was a clinical fellow of infectious diseases at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. She obtained her Master of Health Science in epidemiology from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University, USA.

Dr. Kiertiburanakul’s research is focusing on general infectious diseases and HIV. This includes the study of common opportunistic infections especially tuberculosis and cryptococcosis, antiretroviral treatment outcomes and its adverse effects, and HIV drug resistance. She is an author, co-authored and collaborated on more than 200 articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals and is still actively involved in several ongoing clinical studies. She is also a committee member and/or consultant of various national organizations, for example, the Ministry of Public Health and National HIV Guidelines Committee.
