Biography

Dr. Suwasin Udomkarnjananun received his Diploma of the Thai Board of Nephrology and a Master of Science from Chulalongkorn University. Following the completion of his PhD in Transplant Immunology from Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands, he currently serves as an attending nephrologist and internist at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, and King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, The Thai Red Cross Society, in Bangkok, Thailand.

His research interests include kidney transplantation, dialysis, and renal involvement in systemic diseases, with a particular focus on patients living with HIV. In 2020, in collaboration with the transplant team, Thailand’s first kidney transplantation in an HIV-positive recipient was performed successfully at Chulalongkorn University. This milestone marks a significant expansion of transplant accessibility for HIV-positive patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) in Thailand
