28th Bangkok International Symposium on HIV Medicine Successfully Concluded

The 28th Bangkok International Symposium on HIV Medicine was successfully held on 14–16 January 2026 at Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai, Bangkok, Thailand.

For over 25 years, the Bangkok Symposium has served as a key regional platform for advancing knowledge in HIV treatment and prevention, as well as related infections including tuberculosis (TB), hepatitis, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). The 2026 meeting continued this tradition with strong international collaboration and vibrant scientific exchange.

  • Multidisciplinary attendance: physicians, nurses, pharmacists, scientists, researchers, students, and community partners
  • A dynamic scientific program featuring plenary lectures, interactive workshops, and a highly engaging Great Debate on long-acting PrEP as standard of care in Asia
  • Thematic session on point-of-care diagnostics for STIs, advanced HIV disease (AHD), TB, and hepatitis

The Great Debate session stood out for its strong audience engagement, with active e-voting and live Q&A discussions, reflecting the high level of interest and professional interaction throughout the meeting.

Continuing the Impact

A formal Meeting Report has been submitted to Future Virology for peer-reviewed publication, anticipated as open access in mid-2026. In addition, approved session recordings and presentation slides will be released publicly to extend learning beyond the conference.
