The National Health Institute (NIH) of the United States has awarded the Thailand HIV/AIDS and Infectious Disease Clinical Trials Unit (THAI CTU), the first of its kind and only one in Asia, funding to conduct HIV research since 2012 to 2027. HIV-NAT is one of the clinical research sites (CRS31802) of this Unit, operating under the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Centre (TRCARC) umbrella. On October 25, 2024, the members of the US Senate and CDC visited our site to better understand how NIH supported research projects and clinical trials are managed and conducted. During this prestigious visit, HIV-NAT presented its current projects/studies, not limited to NIH sponsored studies, and its progression as well as a tour of its facilities such as the clinic, pharmacy and laboratory. It was a great privilege to meet the delegates from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, US CDC and Thai MOPH – US CDC Collaboration (TUC).
